What ClipEmber does

ClipEmber turns a long video into vertical clips. It transcribes the audio in 90+ languages, scores every candidate moment, reframes the speaker to 9:16 and burns in word-level captions. You can edit by clicking words in the transcript, then schedule clips to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels through each platform’s official API. Pro adds Autopilot, which clips new uploads from YouTube channels you choose, and the REST API; an MCP server lets Claude and ChatGPT run all of it.

Bring a video

  • Paste a YouTube link or a direct video URL, or upload a file.
  • Each run reads a window of 1 to 20 minutes of the source; one run costs one credit and includes every clip it produces.
  • Pick a preferred clip length, from under 30 seconds up to 10 minutes.

Finding the moments

  • The audio is transcribed with word-level timestamps in 90+ languages.
  • Every candidate moment gets a score from 0 to 100 and a hook title that explains it.
  • The score is our estimate of how well a clip opens. It is not a prediction of views, and we publish how it compares with real view counts.

Captions and framing

  • Word-by-word karaoke captions burned into the video, in nine styles: Bold Pop, Karaoke, Minimal, Boxed, Neon, Sunset, Grape, Subtle and Inkbox.
  • Captions stay in the language people are speaking.
  • Face-aware reframing keeps the speaker centered in 9:16, with fill, fit and square layouts.
  • An optional teaser intro opens the clip with a line from later in it.

Editing

  • The transcript is the timeline: click a word to cut it from the video.
  • A waveform and word timeline for scrubbing and seeking by word.
  • Undo, redo and saved versions of every edit.

Posting and scheduling

  • Publishes to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels through each platform's official API, not a reposting service.
  • TikTok: a clip goes straight to your profile (Direct Post) after you write its caption and choose who can see it on our Post to TikTok screen. Otherwise TikTok receives it in your inbox to finish there.
  • YouTube Shorts are uploaded as public by default.
  • AI writes a title, description and hashtags for each platform; one calendar holds every scheduled post.
  • Long stories can be split into numbered parts (PART 1/3, 2/3…) for Instagram and YouTube.
  • Posting and scheduling are on paid plans and during the 7-day Pro trial; see pricing.

Autopilot

  • Watches YouTube channels you choose, including Creative Commons sources, and clips their new uploads.
  • Adds the attribution line that CC BY requires to each clip from a Creative Commons video.
  • Puts every proposed clip in a review queue, where you approve or dismiss it before it is posted.
  • Available on Pro and Agency, and during the trial.

API and AI agents

  • A REST API for everything the app does: create clips, poll status, get webhooks on completion, export a ZIP. API reference.
  • An MCP server with 31 tools, connected over OAuth, so Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients can make clips, read results and schedule posts. It works on every plan and is listed in the official MCP Registry. How to connect it.

What ClipEmber does not do

  • Post to platforms other than TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
  • Connect more than one account per platform.
  • Team workspaces, client roles or white-label exports.
  • AI voice dubbing or voice cloning.
  • Remove the watermark on the Free plan: the 5 free monthly videos download with a clipember.com watermark.
  • Promise views. No score, ours or anyone's, has been shown to predict them.
